About Kevin
I'm an American living and working in Tokyo. My background is in education, HR, and people development — over a decade supporting professionals working across languages, cultures, and expectations.
I started Collier Consulting because of a pattern I kept seeing: language learning tends to be demotivating. Most schools run the same drills, the same textbooks, the same generic conversations, and motivation fades because the work doesn't connect to anything real. I wanted to build something more practical — English you can use the next day, in the meeting you actually have tomorrow, with the colleagues and clients you actually work with.
What makes this different from a standard English lesson is the background behind it. I've spent over a decade in HR and people development, and I have an MBA. I've sat in the meetings, made the hires, and run the teams. So when we build a presentation, prepare for a difficult conversation, or work through how you communicate with an international client, I know what a good version actually looks like in your world — not just whether the English is correct.
“I can talk with Kevin like a friend, without feeling nervous — that's why it's easy to keep going. He sets a clear path each week, which makes it easier than studying on my own, and I can feel myself improving.”

Most people begin one of two ways — a short structured course, or ongoing 1:1 coaching. Either is a real starting point; many start with a course and stay on.
Choose a Course
